Initiation Fee: There is a one time initiation fee of $300.00
Monthly Dues: Dues are $25.00/month for active members, and only $12.50 a month for active members that purchase their own glider. In order to keep our dues low, members are strongly encouraged to participate in club projects and maintenance of club equipment.
SSA Membership: All AVSC members are required to join the Soaring Society of America at an annual cost of $64.00 per year. The SSA membership includes a monthly subscription to Soaring Magazine. Flight Instruction: Flight instruction may be scheduled with a club CFIG pilot prior to
the arrival at the airfield. Any
instruction fees are paid directly to the instructor at the end of each day
of training. AVSC does not receive any
money for flight instruction. Any tow
fees, or plane rental costs (if required) are also the responsibility of
the student. Towing Fees: Shearline Aero provides services including aero tows at Krey Field. All AVSC members pay for their own tows. Typical rates: 1500 ft. = $25.00, plus $2.00 for each 100 ft. of additional altitude. Two Pawnee tow planes assure reliable towing service year round.
Shearline Aero Glider Rental Fees: (1) Schweizer 2-33 $20.00
per hour $10 minimum on rentals Krey Field Details: Main runway approx. 5,000 ft. long and 200 ft. wide. Crosswind runway approx. 1,000 ft. long and 150 ft. wide. Runways are easily visible and recognizable from the air, with no obstructions near to the airfield. Field elevation 3,000 ft. Very little air traffic. Prevailing winds normally blow near parallel to main runway. Aircraft and trailer tie downs available next to airstrip for year round owner convenience, RV and travel trailer storage is also available. |
